Robert Pagel, 1928-2000

Robert Pagel, 8506 Pioneer Rd. Larsen Age 72, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 1, 1928 in West Bloomfield son of Arthur and Lillian (Pagel) Pagel.
Robert married Marilyn Johnson on February 13, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Robert worked as a shift supervisor for Bergstrom/Glatfelter Paper Co. for 40 years before retiring March 1, 1990. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and gardening. Robert loved spending time at his trailer in Iola. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn three daughters: Bonnie (Ron) Muthig, Neenah Sandra Zuleger, Neenah Sherri Stolla, Madison four grandchildren: Tyler Zuleger, Neenah Brandon and Britta Wipperfurth and Josie Stolla his mother, Lillian Pagel, Neenah two sisters: Virginia (Harry) Paveletzke, Neenah Geraldine (Robert) Hase, Neenah a brother, Kenneth (Mary) Pagel, Iola and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 15, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester with Rev. Vicki Fink officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home and again on Monday, directly at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial is being established in his name. The family would like to thank Dr. Swanson and Dr. Campbell and their staff for their care of Robert. Catherine A. Kujawa Pagel, 1914-2000

Catherine A. Pagel, 85, long time resident of Suamico, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at a local hospital. The former Catherine Kujawa was born on Aug. 27, 1914, in Anderson, Ind., to the late Jacob and Martha (Shalosky) Kujawa. On Aug. 9, 1933, she married Andrew Pagel at St. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church, Flintville. He preceded her in death in 1982. Catherine was the organist and choir director at St. Benedict Parish from 1946, organist and choir director at St. Pius from 1960, past President and member of St. Theresa's Altar Society, past Secretary and Treasurer and member of the National Society of Catholic Foresters from 1935, Charter member of the Green Bay Diocesan Choir, member of N.P.M. (National Pastoral Musician's Association), past member of the Green Bay Symphony Choir, member of W.I.B.C., and past member of Whirl A-Way Square Dance Club.

Catherine is survived by her children: Rita (Norm) Tilque, Suamico Suzanne (Henry) Kaiser, Suamico Sarah (Ray) Delvoye, Suamico Janice (Gary) Du Chateau, Abrams Karen (Gary) Toellner, Howard Michael (Lynn) Pagel, Suamico David (Rebecca LaLuzerne) Pagel, Howard 12 grandchildren: Debra Spratlin, Mark (Cindy) Tilque, Dean (Karleen) Tilque, Jodi (Bill) Wry, Wayne (Amy) Delvoye, Amy Delvoye, Mary Delvoye, Tricia Karl, Bobbi Jo Karl, Michelle (Mike) Klein, Cory Pagel, Matthew Pagel 12 great-grandchildren: Eric and Melanie, Adam, Aaron, Andy, Jacob, Tyler, Grant, Chase, Ashley, Joey, Kayla, and Kylie three sisters-in-law: Eileen Kujava, Frances Kujawa, and May Delamater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew grandson-in-law, Paul Spratlin brothers: Anthony and Inez Kujava, Lawrence, and Martin Kujava sisters and brothers-in-law: Josephine and Ed Champeau, Teresa and John Trofka. Further preceded by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law.

The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5 (Today). Parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the funeral cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Suamico, with the Rev. Gary J. Dantinne officiating. Burial to follow. Andrew J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director, 434-2060.
